At the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games , two sport climbing competitions were held for the first time . These took place from October 7th to 10th, 2018.

competition

Two competitions, one for each gender, were held as an Olympic combination of speed climbing , bouldering and difficult climbing . 21 athletes of each gender took part, which were determined by prior qualification at various world championships.

The combination was created by the IFSC as a new discipline after the naming of sport climbing as an Olympic discipline for the 2020 Summer Games and included in the program at the request of the Organizing Committee of the Youth Games.
