Liechtenstein took part in the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid with four male and three female athletes.
The focus of the team from Liechtenstein was on the Wenzel siblings. Hanni Wenzel was able to win three medals, brother Andreas Wenzel won the fourth medal and the younger sister Petra Wenzel was allowed to act as the flag bearer at the opening ceremony.
