For the first time in Olympic history, a men's speed skating mass start was held at the 2018 Winter Olympics . The mass start took place on February 24, 2018 in the Gangneung Oval .

Olympic champion was Lee Seung-hoon from South Korea. Bart Swings from Belgium won silver and the bronze medal went to Koen Verweij from the Netherlands.
