The Olympus E-400 is a digital SLR camera that was manufactured in accordance with the Four Thirds standard developed by Olympus and Kodak . It was launched on the market in October 2006. Equipped with a 10 megapixel sensor and the very small dimensions of 129.5 × 91 × 53 mm, this camera is not only the tiny thing within the E series, but also the smallest digital SLR camera the market.
Thanks to the compatibility with the E-System developed by Olympus , there are enough Zuiko lenses available for this camera . Like the E500, the E-400 has a 2.5-inch monitor with 215,000 pixels and an ultrasonic dust filter ( Supersonic Wave Filter ) that uses ultrasound to remove tiny dust particles from the image sensor.
Series picture recordings are possible with a maximum speed of 3 pictures / sec and a maximum of 5 pictures (RAW) or approx. 20 pictures (JPEG) in a row.
Like its sister model, the E-500 , the E-400 also has two memory card slots. While the first slot supports memory cards of the type CF I, CF II and IBM-Microdrive, the second slot can accommodate the xD-Picture-Cards developed by Olympus and Fuji . The E-400 weighs 375 g.
Its successor is the Olympus E-410 .
