Map Omatjette in Namibia

Omatjette , also Omatjete , is a settlement in the constituency of Daures in the Erongo region in central western Namibia . The settlement is about 65 kilometers northwest of the village of Omaruru .

Omatjete has a clinic.

Historically, the place was called Omatjate ( Otjiherero ), which means something like delicious water . The name is due to the good water from a spring on the western edge of the settlement.
