Omer Damari ( Hebrew עומר דמארי; * March 24, 1989 in Rishon LeZion ) is an Israeli soccer player . The striker is under contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv .

Career

Omer Damari was trained in the youth of Maccabi Petach Tikwa and made his debut on November 21, 2006 in the league cup against MS Ashdod for the professional team. After five seasons for Maccabi Petach Tikwa, he was able to show 29 goals in 118 league games. In July 2011, he moved to league competitor Hapoel Tel Aviv for a transfer fee of 1.5 million euros , where he signed a five-year contract that included a release clause of three million euros. In Tel Aviv he quickly rose to become a top performer. He won the Israeli Cup with Hapoel in 2012 and was second in the scorers list with 26 goals in the 2013/14 season, behind Eran Zahavi from Maccabi Tel Aviv (29 goals).

On July 30, 2014, the Austrian club FK Austria Wien announced the commitment Damaris. Here he signed a contract dated July 2018. In his first league game for Austria, he scored the 1-0 lead against SC Wiener Neustadt (2-2). In the home game against SV Ried (3-1) almost a month later, he scored twice. In the 88th minute of the away game against reigning champions FC Red Bull Salzburg , Damari scored the 3-2 winning goal for his team.

In January 2015 he signed a three and a half year contract with the German second division club RB Leipzig . After a disappointing second half of the season, it was awarded to sister club FC Red Bull Salzburg in June 2015 . The loan contract ran for a year. From August to the end of 2016, Damari was awarded to the New York Red Bulls . At the beginning of January 2017, another award was made, this time for a year and a half to the Israeli first division club Maccabi Haifa .

For the season 2018/19 returned Damari determined to Hapoel Tel Aviv back.

National team

After Damari already played for the Israeli U17 , U18 , U19 and U21 national teams, he made his debut on November 17, 2010 in the senior national team in a 3-2 victory over Iceland . He scored two goals in the first 14 minutes, giving his team a 2-0 lead. He also met once in friendly matches against Honduras and Belarus . Damari made 20 appearances for his home country until 2015 and scored nine goals.
