Omid Taslimi

Omid Martin Parwiz Taslimi (born May 12, 1986 in Basel ) is a Swiss - Iranian filmmaker and photographer .

biography

Taslimi is a trained carpenter and sound engineer . His mother was born in Switzerland and his father was born in Tehran , where he emigrated to Europe shortly before the Islamic Revolution . Taslimi has a brother and a sister.

After completing his apprenticeship as a carpenter, he attended the TTS sound engineering school in Schönenwerd and practiced in a Basel film studio. In autumn 2015, at the age of 29, Taslimi made his debut film, the 90-minute documentary Be aware and share , which premiered in January 2016 at Theater Basel and was then screened and discussed in several art house cinemas.

In the spring of 2016, Taslimi founded his own production company TADIG . He was the producer and director of the music video "Für aui Wunder bling" by Collie Herb and produced some live videos of the release of Herbs album Bambus in Schützi Olten, Switzerland, where he performed on stage with The Mighty Roots , Jo Elle and La Nefera was supported. Taslimi was also the producer and director of G-Free feat's tapout music video . Acrobatics .

In 2017 Taslimi was the producer and director of the music video Break your old reflection by LORIA and became a supervisor and course leader at the Movie Camp in Basel. In the same year he created the videos for the loopsided productions Collie Herb & Cali P : Everywhere We Go and Dusty Flavor: You and Me and Collie Herbs Be Aware And Share feat. Pyro , Crosby & La Nefera .

In 2018, together with the Berlin photographer and documentary filmmaker Matthias Leupold, he produced the documentary film "The Photographer Hugo Jaeggi - In addition, the dream is often enough reality " (directed by Matthias Leupold and Jérôme Depierre). The film deals with the life and work of Hugo Jaeggi .
