Onamia is a small town (with a status of " City ") in Mille Lacs County in the US state of Minnesota . In 2010 Onamia had 878 inhabitants.
The administration of the Mille Lacs Indian Reservation of the Anishinabe (Ojibwa) is located in Onamia .

Onamia is located in the northeastern center of Minnesota on the south bank of Lake Onamia and on the east bank of its outflow, the Rum River . The place extends over an area of 2.3 km².
The US Highway 169 and Minnesota State Route 27 meet in Onamia.
