Premios Ondas

The Premios Ondas ( Spanish for wave prizes ; internationally known as Ondas Awards or The Ondas ) are an award for national achievements, since 1956 also for international achievements in the fields of radio , television (since 1957), film (since 1991) and music (Since 1993).

They have been awarded annually since 1954 on the initiative of the then director of Radio Barcelona , a Cadena SER broadcaster , Ramón Barbat. They were the first radio and television awards to be given in Spain and are highly regarded.

23 awards were presented in 2018. In total, more than 1500 Premios Ondas were awarded to winners from 57 countries, including Spain as well as Rhodesia , the Soviet Union and Czechoslovakia , which no longer exist today.
