Ore o Suki nano wa Omae dake kayo ( 俺 を 好 き な の は お 前 だ け か よ Are You Really the Only One Who Likes Me?, Also known as Oresuki ) is a light novel series by Rakuda published since 2016 with illustrations by the cartoonist Buriki, which is to be classified as romantic comedy .
An implementation as a web manga with drawings by Yū Ijima was published on the Shonen Jump + app of the Shueisha publishing house and later sold on a physical level. So far, three volumes have been published in Tankōbon format. An anime series of the same name , produced by Connect , started in early October 2019 .
action
Amatsuyo Kisaragi, known as Joro, is in the second year of high school and is friends with Taiyō Ōga - nickname Sun-chan - the ace of the school baseball team . Aoi Hinata, who is called Himawari by everyone, has been friends with Joro since childhood and is inseparable. One day Joro is invited by Cosmos, the student council president and Himawari on a date that takes place over a weekend. At the end of the two, the two confess that they are in love with Joro's friend Sun-chan and ask him to help her with the coupling. Joro reveals that he appropriated his nice character with the purpose of stealing the affection of his classmates and suppressing his true personality, which is gruff and aggressive. He promises to help the two girls in the hope of starting a relationship with the loser. When he receives a declaration of love from the inconspicuous Sumireko Sanshokuin, known as Pansy , a little later , his original plan is shaken. Pansy reveals to him that she has been watching him for a long time , so she knows all his secrets. She declares that she has fallen in love with his true character.

Light novel
The light novel series is written by Rakuda and provided with pictures by Buriki. The first volume was published on February 10, 2016 in Dengeki Bunko by ASCII Media Works . Twelve volumes of the series have been published so far.
Manga
A web manga written by Rakuda first appeared on the Shōnen Jump + app from Shueisha . This was later produced on a physical basis. So far, three volumes of the manga have been published in Tankōbon format. The last chapter of the web manga will be released on August 23, 2020.
Anime
At the 25th Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival on October 7, 2018, an implementation as an anime series was announced. As a production studio, Connect is responsible. Noriaki Akitaya will direct . Shoko Takimoto creates the character designs while the music in the series is composed by Yoshiaki Fujikawa . Rakuda, who wrote the template for the anime series, helps build the series. On October 2, 2019, the first episode was shown on Japanese television. At the end of November, the release of an additional episode was announced, which summarizes the first nine episodes of the series, before the series continues with the air of the tenth episode the following week.
Shuka Saitō, who has a speaking role in the series, sings the song in the opening credits with Papapa , while Haruka Tomatsu , Haruka Shiraishi and Sachika Misawa interpret the song in the credits Hanakotoba . Tomatsu, Shiraishi and Misawa starred in the series.
Aniplex of America secured the rights to broadcast the series in the English-speaking regions. Crunchyroll and HiDive show Oresuki in North America , FunimationNOW in North America and in the United Kingdom, while AnimeLab makes the anime available in Australia and New Zealand . In German-speaking countries, Wakanim received the license to broadcast the anime series.
On December 25, 2019, an original video animation was announced that focuses on the characters Joro and Hose and will conclude the anime series. This was announced for early summer 2020. On March 21, 2020 the OVA was announced under the title Oretachi no Game Set for May 23 of the same year. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic , the release of the original video animation has been postponed indefinitely. This will be released on September 2, 2020 on DVD and Blu-ray Disc.

analysis
The nicknames of the female protagonists represent different types of flowers, while the nickname Joro of the main character Amatsuyu Katsuragi means " watering can " and Taiyo nickname represents the sun . In the course of the series allusions to well-known books such as The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson , Kokoro and Ich der Kater by Natsume Sōseki or also Debt and Atonement by Fyodor Dostojewski .
