Organ inventory of Switzerland
The organ inventory in Switzerland is a project that began in April 1988 at the University of Zurich .
The inventory aims to classify the organ as a sound document as well as an object of architectural and art-historical importance alongside technical issues. The descriptive classification of the organs is systematically advanced in uniform categories. The Weilheim regulation (new version 1970), which provides information on the basis of which organs are regarded and protected as national cultural assets , is the basis of the surveys conducted by the Department of Musicology (University of Zurich) and the cantonal departments for Cultural Assets and Organ experts run.
Since the beginning of 2007 the survey has been carried out by the Organ Documentation Center of the Lucerne School of Music .

- The following inventories are currently being processed: Lucerne , Obwalden and Nidwalden , Schwyz and Zurich .
- In cantons not mentioned, the inventory was postponed, for financial reasons or due to a lack of specialized staff in the cantons concerned.
