Langwied (Munich)
Langwied is a district of Munich . Together with the urban districts of Aubing and Lochhausen , it forms the urban district of Aubing-Lochhausen-Langwied .
history
Langwied was first mentioned as Lanquat in 1269/1271 . The name Langwied means on the long forest (to ahd. Witu , wood, forest '). The part quat in the name Lanquat , which was used until the 15th century, could come from ahd. Wat 'ford' (cf. wading ) and possibly allude to a ford for wading through the Langwieder Bach.
In 1818 the community Langwied was formed together with Lochhausen and Gröbenzell.
In 1908 (November 26th) Leonhard Heigl from Lochhausen, a servant at the Heitmeier station inn, made an important coin find. While working in the fields, he came across a broken pot with around 1700 Roman imperial coins at a depth of approx. 10 cm, which, due to months of gleanings by children and other lovers, increased to almost 2000 pieces. They were silver-plated copper coins, minted in the period from 260 to 310 AD, according to Prof. Dr. Bernhart's wages, which were hastily buried as a result of adverse conditions at the beginning of the century, without the owners finding time to visit the hiding place again. The place of discovery near Langwied can no longer be determined with absolute certainty. Presumably it has completely disappeared due to gravel excavation and is probably located in the middle between Menzing and Lochhausen. The majority of the find with 1675 coins is now in the State Coin Collection in Munich.
On April 1, 1942, the municipality with a contract of August 29/2. September 1941 incorporated into the city of Munich. Northern parts of Langwied and other parts of the community formed the community of Gröbenzell on August 1, 1952 . Langwied and Lochhausen initially formed the district 40 Langwied-Lochhausen, which in 1992 was merged with the then district 39 Aubing to form the new district 22 Aubing-Lochhausen-Langwied .
