Orukpe Erayokan (born December 20, 1993 in Uromi ) is a Nigerian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Orukpe Erayokan gained his first international experience in 2014 at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow , where he played in the Nigerian 4 x 400 meter relay in the run-up. At the IAAF World Relays 2015 in the Bahamas , he finished sixth in the preliminary run in 3: 06.92 minutes and he was disqualified with the 4 x 200 meter relay. In October he first took part in the Africa Games in Brazzaville , where he finished sixth in 45.73 s. He was also fourth with the season in 3: 03.52 min. The following year he reached the semi-finals at the African Championships in Durban and was eliminated there with 46.84 s. With his services he qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he was eliminated with 47.42 s in the first round . In 2018 he again took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast and was eliminated there with 47.19 s in the lead. In addition, he was disqualified with the relay in the run-up due to a track violation. In August he finished fifth at the African Championships in Asaba in 46.38 seconds and secured the bronze medal behind Kenya and South Africa in 3: 04.88 minutes.

In 2019 he took part again in the Africa Games in Rabat and reached the semi-finals there, in which he did not start. In addition, he won the bronze medal behind the teams from Botswana and South Africa in 3: 03.42 min.
