Oscar Adrián Ahumada (born August 31, 1982 in Zárate ) is a former Argentine football player .
Career
society
Oscar Ahumada made his professional debut on November 24, 2002 in a 2-1 win over Olimpo de Bahía Blanca . He only played a minor role in winning the Clausura in 2003 and 2004, before moving to Germany for VfL Wolfsburg in 2004 . There he played with his compatriots Facundo Quiroga , Andrés D'Alessandro , Juan Carlos Menseguez and Diego Klimowicz . In Wolfsburg, however, he only played four games. In January 2005 he returned to River Plate.
In May 2008 he made himself very unpopular with the River Plate fans when he said in an interview after a game, "We lost today because we didn't have the support of our fans, they are not like the Boca fans. " This statement came after the elimination of the Copa Libertadores against San Lorenzo de Almagro in the round of 16. Then the fans demanded the expulsion of Ahumada, but coach Diego Simeone rejected this request. Despite being eliminated from the Copa Libertadores, there was still the possibility of winning the Clausura. It was a head-to-head race with Estudiantes de La Plata , which you could win in the end. Ahumada and his teammates Ariel Ortega , Juan Pablo Carrizo and the young talent Diego Buonanotte played a key role in winning the title . In 2010 he moved to Mexico to the CD Veracruz . A year later he switched to FK Rostow .
After Ahumada only played two league games for Rostov, he moved to his home country for the All Boys in 2012 . Two years later he ended his career there.
National team
Ahumada played for the Argentine U-20 national team, which won the 2001 World Youth Championship. This was held in their own country. He played three games. Ahumada made his senior international debut when he was a substitute in the friendly against Brazil .
