Oscar Hermann Beschorner

Oscar Hermann Beschorner (born March 20, 1843 in Dresden ; † July 27, 1904 there ) was a German physician .

Life

Oscar Hermann Beschorner studied medicine in Freiburg and Leipzig . In 1863 he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Leipzig . In Leipzig, Carl Reinhold August Wunderlich was one of his academic teachings. In 1866 he was an assistant at Streubel in Vienna. After his doctorate as Dr. med. he was from 1867 for further training at various hospitals in Germany, France and London . After his return to Germany he was assistant doctor at Walther's in the internal department of the Dresden City Hospital. From mid-1869 he studied laryngoscopy with Karl Stoerk and Leopold Schrötter von Kristelli in Vienna, with Victor von Bruns in Tübingen and with Merkel in Leipzig. During the Franco-German War , he worked as a surgeon in war hospitals in Dresden . He then settled in Dresden as a general practitioner specializing in laryngeal rhinology in Dresden, where he researched and treated diseases of the respiratory system . In addition to his specialist articles, he wrote numerous smaller treatises, reviews and papers that were published in various medical journals.

Beschorner died of throat cancer in Dresden in 1904 and was buried in the Trinitatisfriedhof . His son was the archivist and historian Hans Oskar Beschorner .
