Oskar Asemissen

Oskar Asemissen (born May 22, 1844 in Schackenburg near Lage, † January 30, 1900 in Detmold ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a farmer and leaseholder, Asemissen studied law in Jena , Heidelberg and Göttingen after attending grammar school in Detmold . During his studies in 1864 he became a member of the Germania Jena fraternity . After graduating, he became an auditor in Detmold in 1867 and was a war volunteer in 1870 . Later he worked at the city court in Lemgo and became a lawyer there . He wrote numerous treatises on social policy , especially on trade and industry issues. In 1884 he became a member of the Schwalenberg district in the Lippe state parliament, in which he worked as the leader of the Liberal Party . In 1892 he was elected to the Detmold City Council.
