Oskar Gluth
Oskar Gluth ( pseudonym : Rudolf Ernsdorf ; born September 16, 1887 in Munich as Oskar Raoul Gluth ; † October 5, 1955 in Prien am Chiemsee ) was a German writer and journalist .
Life
Oskar Gluth was the son of the music teacher and opera composer Viktor Gluth . Oskar Gluth studied philosophy at the University of Munich , where he received his doctorate in philosophy in 1912 with a thesis on Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz . He then completed an acting training with Friedrich Basil and was part of the editorial team of “ Münchner newest Nachrichten ”. He participated as a member of an infantry -Munitionskolonne on the Western Front in the First World War in part. After 1918 he tried to work as a small farmer in the Bavarian Alpine foothills . From 1940 he took part in the Second World War. After 1945 he lived in Prien am Chiemsee .
Oskar Gluth was the author of novels , short stories , poems and plays . He saw himself as a popular Bavarian narrator, especially in the succession of Ludwig Thomas and achieved great success with some of his works (especially with the novels "The Bewitched Spitzweg", of which more than 100,000 copies were sold, and "Dieter and Yvonne") Reading audience.
