Oskar von Cornberg

Baron Oskar von Cornberg (born July 4, 1855 in Kassel , † October 20, 1928 in Greiz ) was a German lawyer, most recently President of the Court Chamber under the last regents of the Principality of Reuss .

Philipp Georg Montegrain von Cornberg († 1852), Lord of Cornberg and von Lübbecke , was raised to the Prussian nobility on November 17, 1803 and thus founded a new line of the originally Hessian noble family of the Barons of Cornberg . His son Christian Wilhelm, the father of Oskar von Cornberg, Colonel of the 1st Kurhessian Guard Regiment, received the right to use the title of baron in 1879.

Oskar von Cornberg was married to Olga von Geldern-Crispendorf. There were four children from this marriage:

  • Gertrud (born May 31, 1891)
  • Ortrud (born May 31, 1891)

Life

Oskar von Cornberg studied law at the universities of Leipzig , Heidelberg and Göttingen . In 1878 he became a member of the Leipziger Wingolf , in 1880 the Göttingen Wingolf .

After the studies, Oskar von Cornberg worked as a magistrate in Greiz . He was appointed Judicial Councilor and served under the last regents of Reuss, Heinrich XIV. And Heinrich XXVII. , as a member of the court chamber. He was President of the Court Chamber until his retirement in 1918.

In 1924 Oskar Freiherr von Cornberg died in his house at Gartenweg 5, where he had lived in close proximity to the lower Greiz Castle.
