Oskar von Saucken

Ernst Wilhelm Oskar von Saucken (born January 6, 1833 on Gut Loschen in the district of Preussisch Eylau ; † December 27, 1910 on Gut Gomthenen in the district of Preussisch-Eylau) was a German landowner and politician .

Life

He came from the old Prussian noble family von Saucken and was the son of Wilhelm Leopold Gustav Adolf von Saucken (1791-1858), royal Prussian cavalry master , and his wife Elfriede Friederieke Wilhelmine de la Chevallerie (1803-1870). He initially embarked on a military career and was an officer in the Prussian Army from 1851 to 1855 , most recently in the rank of captain . From 1856 he devoted himself to the management of his father's estate in Loschen. He later acquired Gomthenen as another manor.

From 1870 to 1873 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives as a representative of the constituency administrative region Königsberg 4 ( Heiligenbeil - Preußisch Eylau). He joined the conservative faction .

Politically, he was active in regional bodies such as the district council and the provincial parliament, and in the church he was involved as a member of the Evangelical-Lutheran provincial and general synod. From 1886 to 1895 he was District Administrator of the district Prussian Eylau. He was a member of the Königsberg Freemason Lodge Zum Todtenkopf und Phönix .

After his resignation as district administrator, he was re-elected in a by-election in 1896 as a representative of the constituency of Königsberg 4 in the Prussian House of Representatives, to which he belonged for almost four legislative periods until his death.
