Ossipee is a city ( town ) in the US -Bundesstaat New Hampshire and administrative seat of Carroll County .
history
Originally Wigwam Village later, New Garden Ossipee was later called by the Ossipee - Indians named one of the twelve Algonquian strains. In 1785 Ossipee was registered as a town .
At the place where the city is today, there used to be an Indian palisade fort , with which the Ossipee defended themselves against the Mohawk. In 1725 the fort was destroyed and then rebuilt by Captain John Lovewell junior. Ossipee claims to be home to the first snowmobile . In 1917 Virgil D. White applied for the patent for accessories that made it possible to convert the Ford Model T into a snowmobile
