Ostromecko ( German : Ostrometzko ; 1942–45: Ostermetz) is a village with 880 inhabitants in the powiat Bydgoski of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship in Poland .

Brief description

There are two castles in Ostromecko. The older one was built in the late Baroque style in 1758–1766; the larger, classicistic one was built in 1849 according to plans by Schinkel's student Eduard Titz . The castles belonged to the Schönborn family, who were ennobled in 1629, and from 1890 to 1945 the von Alvensleben family ( Albrecht von Alvensleben-Schönborn ). Furthermore, there is a church built in 1763–1764 in the village. Mineral water has been extracted from the so-called Sauerbrunnen-Marienquelle in Ostromecko since 1894.
