Live and act

He came from the old Bohemian noble family Bradský von Labouň, who wrote to the village Labouň near Jičín (Jitschin) in Eastern Bohemia. The first members of the families were mentioned in the second half of the 14th century. Zdeněk von Labouň was the rector of Charles University in Prague from 1408-1409 . Another member of the family, Otík (Otto) von Labouň, who bought the Brada Castle near Jičín around 1450 . He then wrote as “Bradský von Labouň”, but the castle was sold at the end of the 15th century. The Bradský von Labouň family then lived only on the small estates or in the towns. In 1881 Franz Viktor Bradský (* 1830), lord of the Cotta manor near Dresden, and his brother Josef Bradský (1825–1887), central treasurer of Prince zu Fürstenberg, received Austrian imperial confirmation of their old Bohemian knighthood. Franz Viktor Ritter Bradský von Labouň married Bertha Fischer. Her son was Otokar Theodor.

He was married to Hannah von Bradsky-Labounska, née Schröder, and most recently lived with his 28-year-old wife in Montreux , Switzerland . Together with engineer Paul Morin, he constructed a steerable balloon . The balloon was made by Henri Lachambre . The gondola was 17 m long and weighed 350 kg. It was attached to 16 steel cables. The propeller had a diameter of 4 m; the motor turned it at 350 revolutions per minute. The first flight took place on October 13, 1902, starting in Vaugirard . Around 9 o'clock they were over Stains and wanted to land at Ly. When the gondola was torn down at a height of around 180 m, de Bradsky and Morin perished.
