The Ottenberg is 588  m above sea level. NN high mountain of the Franconian Alb in the municipal areas of Berg and Pilsach in the district of Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz , Bavaria ( Germany ).

Geographical location

The Ottenberg is located in the Upper Palatinate Jura , which in the Upper Palatinate Franconian lying part of the Franconian Jura also called Alb, between cadence Hofen , a district of mountain , the west and the nucleus of Pilsach in the east.

Through the valley to the west of the Ottenberg, which is wooded in many places, the Schwarzach flows roughly in a north-south direction , including through the core town of Berg. On the Ottenberg there is a castle stable , which can still be recognized by a rampart . The Ottenberg glider airfield has been located northwest of the mountain in the transition area to the Schmidberg (approx. 569  m above sea level ) since 1966 .
