Otto Karl Findeisen (born December 23, 1862 in Brno , Crown Land of Moravia , Austrian Empire , today Brno, Czech Republic ; † January 25, 1947 in Leipzig ) was a German conductor and composer .

Life

Born in Brno, Otto Findeisen received his musical training at the Vienna Conservatory , where he was supported in particular by Anton Bruckner . After his career as a conductor in various 1882 Bohemian had begun places, he was in the train at Vienna's Carl-Theater , on Wilhelm Theater in Magdeburg , at Regensburg City Theater , the Carl Schultze Theater in Hamburg and at the Breslau Municipal Theater used . He was also toured through North America and Russia. In 1902 Findeisen became Kapellmeister at the Leipzig City TheaterCommitted. Otto Findeisen died in Leipzig in January 1947 at the age of 84.

Otto Findeisen, composer of numerous operettas , celebrated a great success in particular with the work The Old Dessauer , which premiered in 1890 at the Wilhelm Theater in Magdeburg .
