Otto Friedrich (painter)
Otto Friedrich (* 2. July 1862 in Gyor , Hungary ; † 11. April 1937 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter of Art Nouveau .
Life
Friedrich studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts with August Eisenmenger and Carl Müller and at the Munich Academy with Wilhelm von Lindenschmidt . In the years from 1891 to 1894 he went on extensive study trips before he settled permanently in Vienna in 1896. Here he was one of the founding members of the Vienna Secession in 1897 . He was also the editor of their magazine Ver Sacrum . Professionally, Otto Friedrich was a teacher at the Vienna Women's Academy .
Otto Friedrich is a little-known artist of Viennese Art Nouveau today. He mainly created landscapes and portraits .
