Main work

Metall- und Armaturenwerke Meinerzhagen GmbH , founded by Otto Fuchs on May 2, 1910, was initially a small brass foundry . When Fuchs died in 1931, his son Hans Joachim Fuchs took over the business and expanded the product range to include aluminum in the 1930s . He converted the company into a limited partnership .

Business contacts were established with the aviation industry, which was booming due to the Second World War. Fuchs later included magnesium processing in the program. As an important war enterprise, it was subject to the influence and surveillance of the Nazi regime .

In the 1950s, aviation demanded the use of the new “super metal” titanium . Fuchs got into the business and made titanium forgings from then on. The mass production of synchronizer rings was more profane . In the 1960s, Fuchs took over Schüco International KG . Fuchs was best known for his Fuchs rims , which were mainly used in higher-quality Porsche automobiles. In 1974 Otto Rudolf Fuchs took over management of the business from his father. His family now owns 50 percent of the company; the other half is in the hands of his half-sister Christiane Fuchs' family.

Otto Fuchs (as of 2017) employs more than 2500 people in Meinerzhagen . According to the newspaper Die Welt 2009 , the company was ranked 238th in the German economy in terms of turnover .
