life and work

Otto Glänz was one of five sons of the carpenter and wood sculptor Franz Sales Glänz (1810–1855) and after his early death took over his workshop with his brothers August Glänz (1830–1863) and Maximilian Glänz (1839–1868).

Among other things, he created a pulpit and a baptismal font for the Reformed Church in Meilen in 1864/68 and the high altar of St. Oswald's Church in Zug , Switzerland, in 1865/66 . In 1867 he made the altar for the St. Wendelin chapel in Todtnau- Brandenberg, and in 1868 the neo-baroque high altar tabernacle for the parish church of St. Gallus in Kirchzarten . In 1876 he made two side altars for St. Bartholomew in Beuren an der Aach .
