Otto Goldmann (lawyer)
Otto Goldmann (born February 10, 1884 in Stuttgart ; † January 14, 1947 in special camp No. 1 Mühlberg ) was a German lawyer and writer .
Life
Born as the son of Karl Emil Goldmann , a descendant of Johannes Kepler , Goldmann studied law in Leipzig and Tübingen . During his studies in 1902 he became a member of the fraternity Dresdensia Leipzig . In the winter semester of 1905/06 he did his legal traineeship and was then a legal trainee in Leipzig. In 1909 he was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD . After his assessor exam , he became a court assessor in Leipzig Connewitz in 1911 .
In 1914 he took part in the First World War as a war volunteer . In 1914 he became a lieutenant in the reserve in the XIXth century. Army Corps , 23rd Division Infantry Regiment No. 179, 9th Company. On August 24, 1914, he was seriously wounded in the left leg in Hayes and was sent to a hospital in Leipzig. In 1914 he was promoted to captain and, after serving in the reserve battalion, at the end of 1914 returned to the war in France near Lille . In 1915 he was wounded again in a storm on Neuve-Chapelle . In 1915 he got a shrapnel bullet in his left shoulder. In January 1916 he became a public prosecutor in Leipzig, but remained in combat. From mid-June he was finally deployed in replacement battalions in his home country. In 1918 he became a military assistant judge in the Döbelner war court , 1922/23 district judge in Leipzig.
After he had belonged to the DDP and the DVP , he did not become a member of the NSDAP . He belonged to the Reichsluftschutzbund on, the Reich Federation of German officials , the National Association for Germans abroad and the Nazi Reichskriegerbund Kyffhäuser on. He took part in World War II . In 1945 he was sent to Special Camp No. 1 in Mühlberg, where he died of exhaustion and pneumonia .
Goldmann had several daughters.
