Otto Josef Lohmann
Otto Josef Lohmann (born April 4, 1838 in Nievenheim , † June 26, 1916 in Düren ) was a German Roman Catholic clergyman. He composed the Kolping song A house of God stands in Cologne on the Rhine .
Life
Otto Josef Lohmann, son of a teacher, attended grammar school in Neuss and then studied theology . In 1862 he received the Cologne Cathedral by Bishop Johann Anton Friedrich Baudri the priesthood . He became vicar in Kettwig and in 1867 chaplain to St. Antonius in Barmen . Here he was particularly involved as President of the journeyman's association . In 1889 Lohmann became pastor in Elsen and in 1891 pastor (from 1895 dean ) at St. Anna in Düren. Here he was particularly committed to the redesign and redesign of several churches, the rebuilding of parish and religious life after the Kulturkampf , the school inspection and the St. Josef orphanage .
Lohmann was honored with the Red Eagle Order 4th class and the Crown Order 3rd class.
