Otto Lindpaintner
Otto Erich Lindpaintner (also: Otto Erik Lindpaintner ; born March 2, 1885 in Munich ; † July 22, 1976 there ) was a German doctor, aviation pioneer and racing driver.
Life
Otto Lindpaintner, son of the Munich doctor Julius Christian August Lindpaintner (1850-1892) and his wife Maria "Mary" Louise, née Hoose (1865-1929), later stepson of the painter prince Franz von Stuck , graduated from high school in 1903 at the Wilhelmsgymnasium in Munich . In the summer semester of 1904 he studied at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Munich , then he studied medicine , among others at the University of Munich, and received his doctorate in 1921 on the case of bulb apoplexy .
Between 1910 and 1914 he won numerous prizes on various of his own flying machines. His flight over the Theresienwiese during the Oktoberfest was spectacular , for which the Munich magistrate awarded him the Silver Oktoberfest Medal in an extraordinary meeting.
In 1914 he had to give up aviation when a disorder in his sense of balance was discovered during his draft . In the same year he married Christine "Tina" Matejak (1886–1967). He then devoted himself to car racing and later worked as a doctor.
