Otto Muther

Otto Erhard Carl Johann Muther (born September 20, 1832 in Eisfeld , † January 19, 1881 in Coburg ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Born the son of a pastor, Muther studied law in Erlangen , Jena and Halle after attending grammar school in Schleusingen . During his studies he became a member of the Germania Erlangen fraternity in 1851 and of the Germania Jena fraternity in 1852 . After his state examination in 1854 he became an accessist at the sub-authority in Coburg, and from 1854 to 1857 at the Sonnefeld Justice Office . In 1858 he became a judicial officer. In 1861 he was promoted to Dr. iur. doctorate and from 1862 worked as a lawyer or court attorney and notary in Coburg. In 1865 he became a member of the Second Chamber of the Coburg State Parliament for the National Liberal Party .
