Otto Pöhlmann

Otto Pöhlmann (born May 12, 1848 in Bayreuth ; † December 17, 1927 in Karlsruhe ) was district president and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Pöhlmann attended high school in Aschaffenburg and the universities of Würzburg , Heidelberg and Berlin , where he studied law. In 1869 he became a trainee lawyer , in 1872 an accessist in the government of Middle Franconia and in 1877 an assessor at the district presidium in Colmar . From 1880 he was a permanent laborer in the office of the imperial governor , from 1885 district director in Erstein and from 1889 to 1898 district director in Schlettstadt . Between 1907 and 1918 he was district president in the Unterelsaß district and in 1917/18 he was curator of the Kaiser Wilhelm University of Strasbourg . Since 1876 he was married to Karoline Freiin von Falkenhausen . He was also Rittmeister of the Landwehr and took part in the 2nd Uhlan Regiment "King" of the Bavarian Army in the war against France in 1870/71 .

From 1893 to April 1896 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency Reichsland Elsaß-Lothringen 6 Schlettstadt . He only joined the faction of the German Reich Party as an intern , as he had been nominated as a common candidate for the Conservatives . His election was declared invalid on April 27, 1896. In the replacement election on August 9, 1896, he was defeated by the candidate of the Alsatian Protest Party.
