Otto Sýkora (also Oto Sýkora ; born December 1, 1964 in Banská Bystrica , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak ice hockey player who was active for many years in the top division of Czechoslovakia and the German ice hockey league . His active playing career began in 1984 and ended in 1995. After that, he initially worked as a sports manager for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , and in 2011 he briefly worked as a manager at HC Sparta Prague . At the beginning of June 2011 he took over the office of Secretary General of the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation .

As an official

Otto Sýkora held the position of sports manager at the Nürnberg Ice Tigers between 1996 and 2009 . In the 2008/09 season, the Ice Tigers had financial difficulties and were on the verge of bankruptcy. In May 2009 Sýkora was terminated without notice; Lorenz Funk took over the position as sports manager. Sýkora then sued the club for continued employment.

Sýkora moved to HC Sparta Prague , where he ended the contractual relationship in 2011 after a short time in the office of manager. In the same year he was appointed general secretary of the Slovak Ice Hockey Federation and general manager of the national team.
