Otto Scheuerer
Otto Scheuerer (born October 31, 1862 in Munich ; † December 5, 1934 there ) was a German animal painter. The younger brother of the animal painter Julius Scheuerer (1859–1913) worked in Munich.
Otto Scheuerer first learned his painting trade as an autodidact , possibly with the help of his brother Julius. He then studied painting with Karl Raupp , but was not entered in the register of the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich .
Scheuerer became a member of the Munich artists' cooperative . The Dutch old masters were the models for his painting. In addition to the poultry, he also painted hunting scenes. The influence of the Chiemsee painters is noticeable in his early works .
