Otto Schmidt (born June 15, 1842 in Paderborn , † June 17, 1910 in Berlin ) was a German judge and member of the Reichstag.

Life

Otto Schmidt was the son of the doctor Joseph Hermann Schmidt . He attended grammar school in Berlin, the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin and the University of Innsbruck . In Innsbruck he became a member of the Corps Rhaetia in 1862 . From 1863 he was in the civil service, from 1869 as an assessor and from 1871 as a district judge in Karthaus near Danzig . In Berlin he worked as a city judge (1874) and district judge (1879). From 1889 he sat in the Prussian House of Representatives . For the German Center Party he represented the constituency of Minden 5 ( Höxter , Warburg ) in the Reichstag (German Empire) from 1893 . Both mandates ended with his death. He was married to Anna Grauert since 1876. The son Karl Schmidt (* 1890 in Berlin; † 1982 in Coesfeld ) emerged from the marriage.
