Otto Schuhmann

Otto Schuhmann (born May 19, 1944 in Hochstadt am Main ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

After graduating from high school, Schuhmann studied business administration in Würzburg and Nuremberg with a degree in business administration and then business education in Nuremberg with a supplementary examination. He was a student assistant at the Institute for Society and Science in Erlangen and an employee at the University of Würzburg and in a tax office. He then worked as a teacher at commercial schools in Bamberg and Bayreuth , and most recently as a teacher at the commercial college in Bamberg.

Schuhmann was subdistrict chairman of the Young Socialists in the subdistrict Kulmbach and district chairman of the SPD Lichtenfels as well as deputy subdistrict chairman of the SPD in the subdistrict Kulmbach. He was first city councilor of Burgkunstadt and then councilor of Altenkunstadt and district councilor in the Lichtenfels district . From 1974 to 1994 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

In 1991 he was awarded the Bavarian Order of Merit. In 2009 he received the " Medal for Special Services to Local Self-Government ". He is married to Susann Biedefeld , member of the SPD state parliament .
