Otto Stadelmann

Otto Stadelmann (born February 2, 1874 in Oberlahnstein , † 1952 in Potsdam ) was a German lawyer. From 1933 to 1939 he was President of the Higher Regional Court in Frankfurt am Main .

Career

Stadelmann was the son of a manufacturer. In 1901 he became a court assessor in Frankfurt am Main , in 1905 a regional judge in Saarbrücken and in 1914 a director at the regional court in Potsdam . On May 24, 1925, he was appointed President of the Senate at the Higher Regional Court in Frankfurt am Main. On May 29, 1933 he became President of the Frankfurt Higher Regional Court; he was the first President of the Higher Regional Court appointed by the National Socialists to head the court. In June 1933 he tried to keep two Jewish OLG judges (Dr. Dreyer and Weigert) still employed, but in the course of the process he pushed through the " Aryanization " of the judiciary at the Frankfurt Higher Regional Court. Stadelmann was also for that of the 31 March 1933 Roland Freisler opened Frankfurter special court jurisdiction, the 1699 political cases against 2,204 people, so-called " enemies of the people " carried out.

Since 1908 Stadelmann was married to Klara Fetzer (1879–1947). He retired on April 1, 1939. His successor was the Vice President of the Frankfurt Higher Regional Court Arthur Ungewitter , like Stadelmann, a member of the NSDAP .
