Horst Henrichs

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Horst Henrichs (born December 31, 1935 - † June 14, 2012 ) was a German lawyer. From 1987 to 1997 he was President of the Frankfurt Higher Regional Court and President of the Hessian State Court .

After various activities in the Hessian judiciary - including as a consultant to the Hessian Minister of Justice - Henrichs served as President of the Frankfurt Regional Court from October 1, 1984 until his appointment as President of the Higher Regional Court on March 1, 1987.

Henrichs hit the headlines because of his sideline jobs. In the dispute over IG Metall's overpaid real estate, a commission he headed blamed the former union chairman Franz Steinkühler with the main responsibility. Henrichs charged IG Metall 1.342 million DM for this. He initially dismissed the accusation of having demanded “completely inadequate remuneration” and applied for disciplinary proceedings against himself.

When it was publicly discussed that he had made private calls for DM 11,000 on his work cell phone, and instead of a more befitting Opel Omega used the confiscated Mercedes 350 turbo-diesel of a drug smuggler as a company car, and after the responsible public prosecutor's office started an investigation on suspicion of breach of trust Henrichs applied for his early retirement.
