Otto Will-Rasing (born January 4, 1901 in Münster , † November 3, 1979 in Detmold ) was a German actor and theater director.

Life

From 1919 Will-Rasing appeared as an actor on smaller stages in Magdeburg, Bunzlau, Grünberg, Mönchengladbach, Wismar, Köthen, Stralsund, Mühlhausen / Thür. and Wernigerode. The dramaturge Emil Becker brought him to the Landestheater Detmold in 1926 . When Becker died in 1934, Will-Rasing was his successor. From 1934 until it was closed on September 1, 1944, Rasing was the director of the Detmold State Theater. Rasing joined the NSDAP in 1939 and was cultural advisor for the local SA . The behavior of the artistic director during the Nazi era was described as "largely in line with the system". From 1949 to 1969 Rasing was again director of the State Theater.
