Otto Wolff (theologian, 1794)

Otto Wolff (born January 29, 1794 in Altkünkendorf near Angermünde , † 1877 ) was a German Protestant clergyman .

Otto Wolff began an apprenticeship as a pharmacist in 1807 and then entered the upper secondary school at the Gray Monastery in Berlin in 1809. In 1813/14 he did military service and then studied theology at the University of Breslau . In 1817 he became a teacher and educator at the cadet house in Kulm in West Prussia , and in 1818 at an educational institution in Breslau. From 1821 he worked as a pastor and teacher in Waldenburg , from 1829 as a pastor in Grünberg in Silesia .

In addition to ecclesiastical and local history treatises, he wrote a work History of the Mongols or Tatars , especially their advance into Europe (1872). He was Royal Superintendent , Knight of the Red Eagle Order 3rd Class with Schl., Corresponding member of the Silesian Society for Patriotic Culture (1841) as well as a member of the Association for the History and Antiquity of Silesia .
