Otto Burchard Emil von der Betten (born November 22, 1839 in Stade , † October 14, 1916 in Holenwisch ) was a member of the Reichstag as a supporter of the Welfs , but did not belong to any parliamentary group.

Life

He was the son of the Hanoverian State Minister Friedrich von der Betten and Auguste Amalia von der Beck. He attended the schools in Lüneburg and Alfeld and the universities of Heidelberg and Göttingen. As a law student in Heidelberg, he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Heidelberg .

In 1863 he became a Hanoverian auditor, in 1867 a court assessor, in 1869 a district judge and in 1874 a member of the Göttingen Higher Court. In the following year he left the civil service and was from 1875 to 1885 a member of the provincial state parliament of Hanover. In 1881 he was elected to the landscape council by the Prussian knighthood. He was a member of the Reichstag from 1884 to 1887 and from 1888 to 1893 as a member of the constituency of Hanover 14 (Celle, Peine, Gifhorn).

As a member of parliament, he lived in an apartment in the Central Hotel on Friedrichstrasse in Berlin.

In 1879 he married Countess Anna von der Schulenburg from Hehlen . They had four children. In 1881 he inherited the Rutenstein manor near Freiburg / Elbe .
