Friedrich von der Betten (born January 30, 1802 in Braunschweig , † January 7, 1881 in Holenwisch near Wischhafen ) was a German landowner and politician in the Kingdom of Hanover.

Life

Friedrich von derdeck was the son of the Danish lieutenant Ludwig von derdeck (1771-1812). As a law student in Göttingen, he became a member of the Corps Bremensia Göttingen . In 1837 Friedrich married Auguste Amalia von der Beck , Rutenstein's heir . Her son Otto von der Betten became a member of the Reichstag . Friedrich lived on the Rutenstein manor near Freiburg / Elbe , which he had acquired in 1840. After Auguste Amalia died in 1850, Friedrich married Auguste von Hodenberg for the second time on May 15, 1855.

The revolution of 1848 led to a temporary liberalization in the Kingdom of Hanover . These were reversed by King George V (1851–1866) under the influence of the Prussian Bundestag envoy Otto von Bismarck . In this context, Friedrich von derdecke also fought for the rights of the nobility. From 1851 to 1852 he was Minister of Finance and from 1855 to 1862 Minister of Justice in the Kingdom of Hanover.

After the Battle of Langensalza , the Kingdom of Hanover was annexed by Prussia and converted into the Province of Hanover . Afterwards Friedrich was appointed to the Prussian manor house in 1868 ; but he did not take the seat.
