The Pärlälven is a river in the Swedish province of Norrbotten County .
The river has its source west of Lake Peuraure in the municipality of Arjeplog . Its course of the river lies mainly within the municipality of Jokkmokk . The Pärlälven flows mainly in an easterly direction. It flows through the lakes Peuraure, Karats and Piertinjaure. Finally, a few kilometers west of Jokkmokk, it flows into Lake Purkijaure , through which the Lilla Luleälven flows. The river length is 139 km. The catchment area covers 2296 km².
The Pärlälven is popular with anglers. In the 19th century there were still numerous river pearl mussels in the river . The name of the river, in German "Pearl River", is derived from this.
