Pösneck is a district of Wünschendorf / Elster in the Greiz district in Thuringia .

geography

Pösneck is surrounded by fields and forest only 6 kilometers northeast of Wünschendorf. To the east, the place is protected from easterly winds by a light wooded floor to the higher arable area. There is a connection to the surrounding area via a local road.

history

The hamlet was first mentioned in a document on February 4, 1196 . Between 1554 and 1928, the place belonged to Saxony as part of the Ziegenhierdsches Ländchen exclave ; he only came to Thuringia through an area swap in 1928 . Pösneck was incorporated into Wünschendorf on July 1, 1950.

A decommissioned transformer tower near Pösneck was redesigned in 2007 to become a "species protection tower ", which offers a habitat for birds, bats and lizards.
