Mildenfurth is a district of Wünschendorf / Elster in the district of Greiz in Thuringia .
geography
The place and the Mildenfurth monastery of the same name are located on the Weida river just before the confluence with the White Elster in the fertile and docked floodplain. The state road 2330 leads through the village and joins the federal road 92 with connection to the federal road 175 . Thus, the place is well served by traffic.
history
On September 8, 1193, the place, like the monastery, was first mentioned in a document. The Mildenfurther Klostermühle was first mentioned in a document in 1260. Work continued in this former water mill until 1995. For a long time she was the compound feed manufacturer for LPG Zossen and after the reunification for the agricultural cooperative Köckritz . In 1999 the work was stopped. The former monastery of the place is used by an artist couple. There is now a lot to discover in Mildenfurth: history, art, nature excursions, bike tours and individual visits.
