Pötschen is a village and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Kapfenberg in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district in Styria .
The scattered settlement is located north of St. Martin and consists of a few individual layers.
Settlement development
At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 12 building areas with 22,157 m² and 11 gardens on 39,697 m² in the cadastral community of Pötschen , in 1989/1990 there were 12 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 31 and in 2009/2010 there were 22 buildings on 34 building areas.
Land use
The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture and forestry. 84 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 152 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 85 hectares and 151 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 86 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 147 hectares. The average soil climate in Pötschen is 23.6 (as of 2010).
