Pürewdordschiin Orkhon (Orkhon Purevdorj) - (* 25. December 1993 ) is a Mongolian wrestler . She became world champion in the weight class up to 63 kg in Paris in 2017 . At the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, she was convicted of doping and suspended.

Career

Pürewdordschiin Orkhon began wrestling as a teenager in 2007. She is a member of the army and starts for the sports association "Aldar" Ulan-Baatar . She was or is trained by the coaches Tsogtbayar and Khosbayar. She is a member of the army and a student.

In July 2010 she started for the first time at an international championship, the Asian Junior Championship (Cadets) in Bangkok. There she took 5th place in the weight class up to 56 kg. In February 2012 she started at the renowned “Yasar Dogu” memorial in Ankara in the weight class up to 55 kg and came in third behind the Turkish women Zeynep Yildirim and Bediha Gün. At the Junior World Championships in September 2012 in Pattaya, she finished 8th in the weight class up to 55 kg. She also took part in the Junior World Championship in "Beach Wrestling" in the "W 60" class in Pattaya and won the title there.

In 2013 she took part in the Universiade in Kazan and took 5th place in the weight class up to 55 kg. In August 2013, she won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships (Juniors) in Sofia in the weight class up to 55 kg after a defeat against Risako Kawai from Japan and victories over Karolina Krawczyk, Poland and Swetlana Lamaschewitsch, Belarus.

In October 2014, she represented her country at the World Military Championships in Fort Dix, United States. There she finished second behind the Chinese Feng Huinin.

In January 2016, Pürewdordschiin Orkhon won the "Ivan Yarigin" Grand Prix in Krasnoyarsk in the weight class up to 58 kg. In the final she beat the Olympic and multiple world champion Kaori Icho from Japan. In March 2016 she won the Olympic qualification tournament in Astana in the same weight class with a 2nd place behind Aisuluu A Tinibekowa from Kyrgyzstan, the right to start at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. At these Olympic Games she won over Mimi Christowa, Bulgaria, then lost to Valerija Scholobowa from Russia, defeated Luisa Niemesch from Germany in the consolation round, but then lost to Sakshi Malik from India and ended up in 7th place.

In 2017 she won three important tournaments, the “Iwan Yarigin” Grand Prix in Krasnoyarsk, the Mongolian Open in Ulan-Baatar and the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid. She beat such good wrestlers as Inna Traschukowa, Russia, Ayako Ito, Japan, Bao Ling Ling, China, Taybe Mustafa Yusein , Bulgaria and her compatriot Battsetseg Soronzonbold . She then showed this good form at the World Cup in Paris in August 2018. In the weight class up to 63 kg she became world champion there with victories over Shilpi Sheoran, India, Henna Johansson , Sweden, Blessing Oborududu , Nigeria, Jackeline Renterio Castillo , Colombia and Julija Tkatsch , Ukraine. A month later she was also military world champion in Klaipeda in the same weight class.

In February 2018, Pürewdordschiin Orkhon in Bishkek in the weight class up to 62 kg with a victory in the final over Luo Xiaojuan from China also became the first Asian champion.

In August 2018 she competed in this weight class at the Asian Games in Jakarta. There she defeated Thi My Hanh Nguyen, Vietnam, Risako Kawai and in the final Aisuluu A Tinibekowa. In a subsequent doping control, as a representative of the Olympic Council of Asia (ACA) announced, however, she was convicted of doping with stanozolol . The victory was then revoked.
