Phyllis Christine Cast

Phyllis Christine Cast (also PC Cast ; * 1960 in Watseka , Illinois ) is an American author of romances and fantasy books. She is also known for the House of Night series, which she writes with her daughter Kristin Cast , but also for her own book series Goddess Summoning and Partholon .

Career

PC Cast's first book, Goddess by Mistake , was originally published in 2001 and, along with her subsequent books, won a variety of awards. In 2005, she and her daughter began writing the House of Night series together. The popularity of vampire literature ( Stephenie Meyer's Bis (s) series) led to the success of the cast books, and in March 2009 the fifth book in the series Hunted rose to # 1 on USA Today and The Wall's bestseller lists Street Journal a.

According to PC Cast, the concept for the House of Night novels came from their agent, who suggested the theme "Vampire Boarding School". The book is set in an alternate version of Tulsa, Oklahoma, inhabited by both humans and "vampyrs" (alternate spelling on the part of the cast). The protagonist, Zoey Redbird, is "drawn" at the age of 16 and moves into the "House of Night" as a "young vampire" to undergo her transformation. In November 2008, Variety reported that producer Michael Birnbaum and Jeremiah S. Chechik had obtained film rights to the House of Night series.

Personal

Cast lives in Tulsa where she teaches college English and where her daughter is a student at the University of Tulsa . She was married and divorced three times. She claims to have a relationship with Seoras Wallace, a Scottish historian and clan leader of the Wallace clan , whom she met while researching her novel The Avenger .
