The 1st PBC Karben (full name: 1st Pool Billard Club Karben eV ) is a billiard club made up of Karben . The club, founded in 1997, played in the 1st Bundesliga in the 2016/17 season .

The 1st PBC Karben was founded on January 22nd, 1997. From the 1997/98 season he took part in the game operation and managed to rise in his first two seasons, so that he played in the national league from 1999. In the 2001/02 season the club rose to the league as champions of the association league. After having landed in the middle of the table in the following four years, they reached first place in 2007 with only one defeat in the season, but just failed in the promotion games to the 2nd Bundesliga . In the following season they finished second. In 2009, PBC Karben only just managed to stay in eighth place. In the 2010/11 season, the club rose as the undefeated league champion in the regional league. Two years later they achieved first place with twelve wins from fourteen games this season and thus made it to the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2013/14 season , however, followed with seventh place, relegation to the regional league. In the following season, the team, now strengthened by the former Bundesliga player Christoph Reintjes , managed to gain direct promotion as the undefeated first place. For the 2015/16 season , Raphael Wahl switched to PBC Karben. On the penultimate matchday of the season, the club secured promotion to the 1st Bundesliga with a draw against Fortuna Straubing's second team , as BSC Martinsried no longer competed against PBC Karben on the last matchday.

In their first Bundesliga season , Hessen started with three defeats. They got the first point with a draw at BC Queue Hamburg . The next game was the first win against PBC Sankt Augustin . On the tenth game day they managed to draw against the defending champion and table leader BSV Dachau , who had to do without several top players because of the World Pool Masters taking place at the same time . Karben got away from last place in the table on the penultimate matchday when the home game against Sankt Augustin was won. Since the competitor Schwerte 87 also won, the descent was still clear. In its last Bundesliga game for the time being against BC Oberhausen , the club drew for the fifth time. In September 2017 he moved to a new clubhouse and left the pool planet Karben , which had previously been used as a venue for 20 years.

Several players of the PBC Karben became German champions in singles . Holger Gries won the first title for the club in 2003 in the 14/1 endless competition for senior citizens. In 2006 , 2007 , 2009 and 2011 he won a total of five other titles in the disciplines 14/1 endless, 8-ball and 9-ball . 2004 won Andreas Leykamm the German Championship of seniors in the 8-ball. In 2005 Andrea Kroll became German champion in the ladies category in 9-ball . In 2015, Raphael Wahl became the first member of the Association of German Men's Masters in 9-Ball.

The second team of the 1st PBC Karben rose in 2002 undefeated in the association league. There she just managed to stay in the 2002/03 season. After having missed promotion in 2004 and 2008 as runner-up, the team rose to the league in the 2009/10 season. There they just secured relegation in 2011, before relegation to the association league followed in 2012. In the 2012/13 season, the team reached first place without defeat - six points ahead of the club's third team in second place - and thus managed to get promoted again directly. In the following season you came in ninth on a relegation place. Since the fourth team of the PBC Karben reached second place in the association league, the second team remained in the upper league. In the 2015/16 season she reached first place with only one defeat and rose to the regional league. In the following season, the team achieved its greatest success up to that point when it became runner-up in the Middle Regional League. On the twelfth day of the match they lost to leaders BV Brotdorf , which pushed them out of reach. For the 2017/18 season, the second team was withdrawn to the association league.
