Marinho Martins Mocana , called Paíto (born July 5, 1982 in Maputo ) is a former Mozambican football player who also has Portuguese citizenship. The Mozambique international was mostly used as a left defender. He played a total of 217 games in the Portuguese Primeira Liga , the Swiss Super League , the Romanian League 1 and the Greek Super League . In 2009 he won the Swiss Cup with FC Sion .

Career

Paito began his professional career in the 2003/04 season, when he in the jersey of Sporting Lisbon debut. Paito played for this club for a total of two and a half years before moving to Vitória Guimarães in the summer . However, he only stayed there for half a year on a switching basis. At the beginning of the 2006/07 season he was signed by the UEFA Cup participant Sporting Braga .

In summer 2007 Paito was signed by the Swiss Super League representative FC Sion . His contract ran until June 30, 2010. For the 2010/11 season, the defender moved to Neuchâtel Xamax within the Super League . His contract there lost its validity in January 2012 after Xamax's license had been revoked and the club filed for bankruptcy a little later. He then joined the Romanian first division club FC Vaslui . From summer 2012 he was without a club for six months before the Greek first division club Skoda Xanthi signed him in early 2013 . With Xanthi he missed qualifying for the Europa League in a playoff in the 2012/13 season . In the following season he and his team only secured the class in the relegation. In the summer of 2014, his contract was not renewed and he was without engagement for a year and a half. In 2016 he played for CD Maxaquene in his home country. Then he ended his career.

He was also a national player for Mozambique and has already played 38 internationals.
